Cancer Screening

Cancer screening is a way in which we check for signs of cancer when a person is actually feeling healthy. It is to find signs that might indicate an early cancer or the risk of cancer.

I usually offer the following screening:

• Pap Smears – screening for Cervical Cancer
• Mammograms – Screening for Breast Cancer  (Referral  to Eugene Marais hospital at Lamprecht and Partners Radiologist)
• Ovarian Cancer – Certain women with high risk family history of ovarian or breast cancer might be offered blood tests and ultrasound (sonar) of the pelvis.
